Sheboygan North Catholic Parishes

Parish Director Message from This Coming Weekend's Bulletin
Change is the only sure thing in life. And that is what our Sheboygan North Parishes are experiencing this Spring. Late last year we learned that Fr. Mark would go on a Health Leave, ultimately leaving us this June. This past weekend, Fr. Norbie made the announcement that the Archbishop has a new assignment for him, and he would also leave us in June. We will certainly be sad to see two very faith-filled priests leave us as Shepherds. But, we will have the opportunity to share our love and best wishes for both of them, in their new assignments, before they leave on June 17.
Change is not always a bad thing. Change brings new ideas and new perspectives that can revitalize a person, a parish, a school, and a whole faith community. With our change, we are assured a new pastor, and a new associate pastor – one of them will speak Spanish. This change gives us the opportunity to start over fresh! To EMBRACE the God within Us, and joyfully welcome our new shepherds.
Remember, as hard as it is for Fr. Mark and Fr. Norbie to leave us . . . and for us to let them go, it is equally hard for our new pastors, who are also comfortable in their current parishes, to leave those communities and move to Sheboygan. We need to EMBRACE all of these men with the love God has shown us and trust that God will send us a new pair of Shepherds to nurture the souls of all of the Sheboygan North parishioners, students, teachers, staff, and our great Sheboygan Community.
This week our Pastoral Council and Finance Councils met with Fr. Nathan Reesman, Vicar of Clergy, and Brenda Cline, Manager of Priest and Lay Ecclesial Personnel and Placement to talk through these changes. I, and the staff of our Sheboygan North Parishes and Seton School, will continue to meet with the Archdiocese as we navigate these transitions. It is our plan to update you regularly on new developments in this process.
It is with great humility and love for our Sheboygan North Parishes and School Community that I ask you to join me in prayer for all our priests – current, new, and those yet to be born. Let us EMBRACE the God with Us, and with God may we all be RENEWED this Lenten Season!

Yours in Service . . .
Mary Petrie
